Blog 1 Weber distribution of power


Max Weber author of the Class Status, Party essay explains that there is more to power then just owning property.  Weber explaining this shows his differences with Marx. Marx based his theory on only two types of people, the bourgeoisie who are the owners of the land/property and the proletariat the labor workers.  Marx saw power only in the class a person belonged to, as Weber saw power saw owning property is just part of a persons  class.  Weber’s definition of power “the chance of a man or number of men to realize their own will in a social action even against their resistance of others “… (Such chances, however are not derived from a single source, nor is power valued for any one particular reason) For Weber power can be gained not only economically, how can it possibly be put into only two groups? , so Weber explained class…
