‘The Crises of Capitalism’

David Harvey analyses the latest ‘crises of capitalism’, specifically, the housing bubble of the 2000s, from a Marxist perspective.  Distinguished Professor of Anthropology and Geography at the CUNY Graduate Center, Harvey uses Marxian concepts — some ‘original,’ some reformulated and updated — to analyze globalization and urban life and protest.  The video below is a shortened, animated version of a talk he gave for the RSA (Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce) in April 2010.  Here’s the link for the full talk, which runs 30 minutes: ‘The Crises of Capitalism’
